High School Football playoffs continued in week three of the KHSAA playoffs.  Tonight’s Bluegrass Sports Nation game of the week featured the Hazard Bulldogs hosting district rival the Pikeville Panthers.  Tonight’s match-up is a rematch from earlier in the year in which Hazard defeated the Panthers 38- 26 on this very field. Louisville Defeats Scrappy Omaha 87 – 78

It wasn’t pretty, but it was a win.  That was the theme of tonight’s game again the visiting Omaha Mavericks.  Louisville led Omaha 40 – 25 at halftime, but their defense was soft in the second half as they gave up 53 points on wide open threes and easy shots at the basket.  David Padgett’s quote was a little stronger, “We’re 2-0 and at the end of the day that’s all that matters.  We played 20 minutes of pretty darn good basketball and we played 20 minutes of embarrassing basketball.  To give up 53 points to a team in one half, especially at home, is just unacceptable.” Continue reading Louisville Defeats Scrappy Omaha 87 – 78

UK Basketball – Cats are Fowl from the Foul Line in 78-61 win over East Tennessee State

Lexington, KY – If you thought any game this season was going be easy for this young Kentucky basketball team, you were seriously mistaken.  Kentucky threw the ball away on their first possession of the game and ETSU scored a 3-pointer on the other end.  That was the start of a long first half for the Wildcats.  The Buccaneers went up by as many as 10 points when Devontavius Payne made a 3-pointer for ETSU to give them an 18-8 lead.   Continue reading UK Basketball – Cats are Fowl from the Foul Line in 78-61 win over East Tennessee State

The Night Cap of the Champions Classic, concluded with another battle of the blue bloods.  Kentucky vs Kansas two of the winningest programs in College Basketball history, battled it out in Chicago, Illinois at the United Center the Home of the NBA Chicago Bulls.  The game featured two team’s currently undefeated and both Nationally ranked in the top ten.
