Stanton Elementary’s Kindergarten Celebration-graduation

Stanton Elementary’s Kindergarten Celebration-graduation was held. They ran out to “Who Let the Letters Out?” the zoo phonics song the kids have been learning the letter sounds with all year. They also did the pledge of allegiance in sign language. They sang many other songs and each told what they wanted to be when they grew up. Following the ceremony they had a reception with Pizza, Popcorn, Cotton Candy, and Cupcakes. It was a very entertaining night for everyone.

Seth Kennon son of Jared Kennon and Dr. Julie Kennon saying he wants to own a drag strip when he grows up because he likes cars.

Stanton Elementary news channel WSES took a field trip to channels 27 & 36

Stanton Elementary news channel WSES took a field trip to channel 27 and channel 36 to learn how the stations worked. It was a very interesting trip and was a very educational learning experience for the kids. They got to see a pre-recorded interview with Barbara Bailey at Ch. 27 and they got to see the 12:00 news live with Kristi Runyon and Mary Wasson ch. 36 and be on as special guest at the end of the broadcast. It was a very rewarding and entertaining day for all who attended.

Powell News–5th graduation

The class of 2016 Graduation from the 5th grade this week. Stanton Elemetary’s was Monday night. Principal Kyle Lively had many encouraging words as did Superintendent Mrs. Evelyn Neely. Nathan Brooks, son of Troy & Deana Brooks was one of the students graduating. Nathan has spent the past 2 months in Haiti on a mission trip, but he was able to come home for graduation. All the students were especially glad to have him back. 5th grade teachers JoAnn Morris and Lisa Cline presented the certificates to the students. Students smile while listening to Superintendent Neely’s speech about being a Butterfly and going on to 6th grade. Stanton Elementary School took a trip to the Louisville Zoo

Stanton Elementary School took a trip to the Louisville Zoo on Tuesday, May 26. All three kindergarten classes went with the help of a few local sponsors. The children really enjoyed getting to see all of the animals. They even got to play in the water.
