| The Breathitt County Public Library invites children ages 0-5 to attend a weekly Toddler’s Group every Friday at 11:30 a.m. Children will complete crafts, listen to stories, watch a short video and have a treat.
The Breathitt County Public Library would like to invite children ages 0 to 7 to attend Halloween Story time on October 22, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Children may wear their Halloween costumes. The Breathitt County Public Library will again offer the Scholastic Reading Counts Program. The Reading Counts Program is a reading comprehension program similar to the Accelerated Reading Program now in use at most local schools. The Reading Counts Program is installed on the library public use computers and books contained in the program have clearly identifiable stickers on the spines. There is no limit on how many tests a child may take or how many books are read during the summer. For fairness sake, the only rule is that participating readers must read at or above the grade level they are entering in the fall. Children must sign-up at the library for this program and each reader will receive a reading record to write down the books that they read and the programs that they attend. Children may take tests anytime that the library is open and assistance is available for special needs. So sign up and get started on your Great Summer Reading Adventure.
