Todd, Lee, Carrier Jr., Hackworth & Maybrier Score Victories at "The Action Track"
RICHMOND, KY (May 19, 2007) - Tyrel Todd took the lead on the opening lap and never looked back, scoring his first win of 2007 at Richmond Raceway Saturday night. The Science Hill, KY driver drove his #14 Todd Truss Co. MasterSbilt race car to the high side of the 3/8ths mile oval around Mt. Sterling, KY's Aaron Hatton to take the lead coming out of turn 4 on the opening lap. Todd held off several charges for the lead from Hatton through a series of restarts in the race's late stages. Hatton, who was seeking his third straight win at Richmond Raceway, followed Todd to the line at the finish. Bobby Carrier Jr., Jason Barrett, and Jim Robinson rounded out the top five. Sixth through tenth were Joey Tackett, Greg Payne, Greg Stepp, Arnold Anderson, and Brandon Witt.
"The Lincoln Leadfoot" Victor Lee made his first visit of 2007 to the Richmond Raceway victory lane in the Open Wheel Modified division. Lee who started the 20 lap a-main fifth, Lee scored the win over David Adams Arnold Adams, Steve Gaunce, and Brent Harris. The Stanford, KY driver took the top spot on lap 3, and pulled away in the late stages to take the win. Walt Neal, Terry Tomlinson, Greg Payne, Doug Webb, and Frank Richards rounded out the top ten.
In the Crate Late Model division, Harrodsburg, KY's Bobby Carrier Jr. led wire-to-wire to score the win.  Carrier Jr. drove his Jeff Rowland owned Floyd Anderson Chevy sponsored Rayburn chassis to the lead at the drop of the green flag, and held off a hard charging P.J. Feistritzer to earn a trip to victory lane. Bryan Bernhart, Billy Barber, Anthony Reams, and John Cole followed the lead duo to the line.
In Road Hog action, Allen Hackworth traded slide-jobs with both ends of the speedway with Glen Hounshell Jr. on the opening lap, eventually taking the lead out of turn four. The Richmond, KY driver then proceeded to run away from the rest of the field in his Willis Fencing Malibu, scoring the victory to the delight of many fans in attendance. Following Hackworth to the line were Terry Hall, Wayne Duvall, Hounshell Jr., and Jeff Rowland Jr. Martin Stacey, Billy Lawson, and Dennis Cross went on to finish just outside the top five.
In Chevette action, Dusty Maybrier scored his first victory of 2007 as the division raced for an increased purse Saturday night. Maybrier, of Waynesburg, KY, drove his Randy's Auto Body Chevette to the lead around Tony Antrobus on lap two, and went on to lead the final ten laps to take the win. Behind Maybrier were Scott Hensley, Tony Antrobus, Chandin Elam, and Adam Whitter. Derrick Cantrell, Chris Schlosser, Thomas Scenters, Jim Bob Collett, and David Murphy completed the top ten.
Saturday May 26th, Richmond Raceway will host the rescheduled Spring Championships, which was rained out back on May 5th. All divisions will be in action, with Super Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, and Crate Late Models all racing for an increased purse.  Late Models will be racing for $1,200 to win, Modifieds for $700 to win, and Crate Late Models for $800 to win.
