| UNITE roundup targets 26 in Breathitt County 12-13-05
For the second time in 26 days police have conducted a roundup of suspected drug dealers in Breathitt County. About 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, detectives from Operation UNITE and local law enforcement agencies met to begin the hunt for 26 people. As of 2:30 p.m. 16 of those sought had been arrested. Assisting were Breathitt County Sheriff Johnny Turner and his deputies, Owsley County Sheriff Kelley Shouse and his deputies, the Jackson Police Department, troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post in Hazard and Appalachia HIDTA. Once processed, prisoners were transported to the Three Forks Regional Jail. Those arrested Tuesday include: € John Wayne Adams, age 33, Highway 1110, Jackson, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, one count first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and one count possession of marijuana. € Minnie Arnett, age 56, Highway 30 East, Jackson, one count second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. € Josh Bouchard, age 23, Mt. Carmel Road, Jackson, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. € Savannah Combs, age 19, Highway 30 West, Jackson, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. € Paul Jason Conner, age 28, Steel Fork Road, Jackson, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. € Oscar J. Costello, age 42, Highway 1110, Jackson, one count second-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count third-degree possession of a controlled substance, and one count possession of marijuana. € Heather Couch, age 24, Belcher Fork, Jackson, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. € Elaine Hudson, age 52, Thorpe Road, Haddix, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. € Greg Hudson, age 22, Thorpe Road, Haddix, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. € Paul Little II, age 24, White Pine Lane, Jackson, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. € Rebecca Smith, age 21, Thorpe Road, Haddix, two counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. € Carol Spicer Spencer, age 51, Shacks Branch, Jackson, two counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. € Hazel Spencer, age 37, Highway 708, Beattyville, possession of marijuana. € Dorothy Thorpe, age 37, Highway 52 (Beattyville Road), Jackson, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and one count first-degree possession of a controlled substance. € Roy Thorpe, age 46, Highway 52 (Beattyville Road), Jackson, one count first-degree possession of a controlled substance and one count possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. € Maxine Watkins, age 36, Highway 30 East, Jackson, two counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
