| S.M.S. Takes State Championship 3-3-04 UPDATE in progress 10:30am Jackson, Ky. The S.M.S. Bobcats went to the State Middle School Tournament and walked away with a 6 & 0 record and a State title. Justin Hollon, Aaron Combs, Chris Jackson, Travis Smith & Oscar Marshall, to name a few, showed what working as a team can do. S.M.S. could not have won without any of these fine players. | Bobcats run record to 11-0 with start of playoff season. 11-5-04 Jackson, Ky. The Breathitt County Bobcats began their run on a 4th State Title with a 63-6 whipping of Shelby Valley. Breathitt scored early and often enroute to the 57 point win. The defense, one of the tops in the state, continued to impress by holding Shelby Valley to 6 points. Up next for the Bobcats are the Prestonsburg Blackcats who defeated Leslie County 26-0 to advance to meet Breathitt County. Prestonsburg has a record of 9 wins and 2 losses. Both losses came to tough opponents, Belfry & Pikeville. Prestonsburg has won 4 in a row outscoring their opponents 208 - 18 in those games. Breathitt has won 11 in a row and given up only 83 points all season. On the offensive side, Breathitt has the second highest points per game in the state at 49.6 points per game. Breathitt Bobcats go 10-0 with spanking of Knott County Central 10-30-04 Jackson, Ky. The Breathitt Bobcats completed yet another great season with a 56-0 spanking of Knott County Central. These hungry Bobcats could have coasted with the Patriots, but instead they came out with a roar. It is a testiment to the Bobcat coaching staff, for having the Cats ready knowing they had an easy game. Breathitt finished the regular season 10-0 and 6-0 in the region. Now the run to a 4th State title begins. November 5th marks the first day of the High School football playoffs, and Breathitt looks primed to win it all again!
